The last of the games at the Tottenham Stadium. The atmosphere had the feeling of a soccer cup final with a split of fans, although the Broncos may have just edged it with more orange than green.
A nervy start from the Broncos resulted in a fumble after Franklin cleared the 1st down marker. The Jets on converted that into a field goal with a penalty that forced them into a 52 yard field goal.
Broncos next drive see’s costly penalties and the Jets defence doing a good job putting pressure on Bo Nix. The Broncos then relying on will Lutz from 57 yards to level the game 3-3 in the 1st quarter.
Kene Nwangwu livened up a Crowd in North London after returning the kick off to the Broncos 24 after what looked he would only have modest gain to the Jets 30 yard line. He kept on his feet from a soft tackle. But much like the game to this point after the 3 plays only 1 yard gained in total after Breece Hall went backwards resulted in another Field Goal converted by Nick Folk!
Broncos come out the blocks with a 17 yard completion to Courtland Sutton. With yet another penalty I thought the same story was coming again but brave play calling saw them reach a 1st down after 2 plays with Bo Nix using his feet and putting his trust in his Wide Receivers the next.
This lit a fire under the players where we got to see our 1st touchdown with a sweet connection between Nix and Nate Adkins with Will Lutz converting the extra point 10-6. Time to see what the Jets do next for their International fans.
Well….they gave them a Punt but did see friend of the show Austin McNamara get his put bit of action.
Not much followed with the most exciting part being the array of fans dressed up including my favourite Bobba Jett on the big screen in the stadium.
Half Time Show must have been shown in the locker room of the Jets as they shot out of the cannon getting them down to the Broncos 20 but the hype was short lived as the drive only resulted in another successful Field Goal by Nick Folks 10-9.
In true Jets fashion they take the lead In an unusual fashion with the Broncos getting a holding Penalty in their end zone resulting in a safety 10–11.
Word of the day scrappy! The 3rd quarter is over in a blink with both teams not handling the pressure, and QB’s not producing the goods. At this point I’m hoping Giggs and JME come back out.
Mims Jr wakes me up with a 26 yard connection with Nix will this drive end in a field goal though…..Yes, Yes it did. 5 minutes of the ball game remain and the crowd starts to empty even though the game is in the balance.
Just before the 2 minute warning a dropped snapped by Fields who is rescued by Hall who takes it to the midway, we get the sing along in the crowd of 61,155 which warms them up a bit before we see the conclusion of this game.
The jets last drive see’s Garrett Wilson get hurt, Fields sacked AGAIN.
the Broncos ride out of London with the Win
